Six Senses Amaala, Saudi Arabia
Nestled along the Triple Bay coastline on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea, backed by the Hijaz Mountains and overlooking crystal-clear lagoons, Six Senses redefines the new benchmark of wild luxury getaways on the Arabian coast, centred on original nature, restorative relaxation and local culture.
Senyuan Furniture undertook the loose furniture for the hotel's public areas and guestrooms. It integrates exquisite Oriental woodworking craftsmanship, indigenous Middle Eastern aesthetics and Six Senses' sustainability philosophy. Every piece of furniture serves as a gentle medium linking the mountains and sea, showcasing top-tier bespoke craftsmanship down to the finest details.
The hotel’s public areas embrace the rustic aesthetic of desert coastlines, with spaces built from raw stone, natural timber and rammed earth. Functional zones are well laid out with seamless indoor-outdoor flow. Warm earth tones complement handwoven furnishings, while open-hearth ovens set the mood, blending authentic local wilderness with laid-back resort vibes.
The arrival lobby features full-length frameless glass and natural wood beams, opening fully toward the Red Sea lagoon with unobstructed views stretching to pale blue bays and limestone cliffs. Distressed rustic wooden ceilings, textured custom sofas and a massive artistic stone round table form a soothing palette of matte earth tones, creating an immersive atmosphere of raw wabi-sabi wilderness luxury.
The SPA reception counter is precisely cut from solid planks of timber, with its curved contour perfectly aligned with the pedestrian flow. The cabinet interior features neatly divided storage compartments, balancing artistic styling with practical functionality.
The cabinet exterior is modelled on natural pine logs. Artisans fully preserve the rugged, uneven bark texture without excessive finishing, bringing unspoiled wilderness indoors. It echoes the textured walls and hanging greenery, fully embodying Six Senses’ design ethos of closeness to nature, simplicity and laid-back tranquility.
The curved solid wood reception desk blends seamlessly with the lounge area. Its smooth rounded contours echo the arched brick dome, creating cohesive flowing lines.
The warm wood tone matches the earthy hue of terracotta tiles. Made from a single solid timber with no superfluous ornamentation, it faithfully continues the space’s raw wabi-sabi style. Together with vaulted ceilings and stone flooring, it builds a tranquil wellness atmosphere close to nature.
The guest rooms carry on the rustic coastal wabi-sabi style with materials reflecting local landforms. Rammed earth walls, log beams and natural travertine establish an earthy tone that recreates the texture of traditional coastal village dwellings. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows open onto outdoor terraces, drawing views of the Red Sea and lagoons inside, perfectly merging authentic local character with the peaceful wellness atmosphere of Six Senses.
The solid wood nightstand in deep charcoal black features a sturdy build with smooth rounded lines. The lounge armchair has a white oak frame paired with hand-woven mesh and fabric upholstery, brimming with tribal charm. The round side table is crafted from a single piece of irregular timber with sleek minimalist geometric lines. Earth-toned soft furnishings and vintage carpets reflect local characteristics, seamlessly blending natural textures with handcrafted quality.
The desk is made of natural beige travertine with inherent mottled texture. Its twin wooden legs are solid light oak, plump and rounded. The contrast between cool stone top and warm wooden supports creates a solid, substantial form, embodying the rustic wabi-sabi charm of a nature retreat.
The dining area is simple and warm. The dining chairs feature a dark solid wood square frame with crisp straight lines and light grey fabric upholstery for comfortable seating.
The sideboard is made of walnut wood with diagonally spliced door panels. Metal rivets are neatly arranged along the frame, delivering a rugged vintage style.
It is fitted with sleek long metal pulls and topped with natural travertine. The combination of wood and stone showcases strong local nomadic characteristics.
Since its inception, Six Senses has centered its brand positioning on sensory wellness, local coexistence and light-touch sustainable luxury. Rejecting ornate and ostentatious opulence, it advocates for laid-back, pure and nature-rooted accommodation spaces. Six Senses Amaara Hotel elevates this philosophy to the fullest. Leveraging the unique coastal landforms of the Red Sea, it creates an immersive retreat integrating wellness, local culture and ocean vacations.
To align with Six Senses' environmental commitment, Senyuan selects eco-friendly solid wood and natural wood veneers. The moisture content of timber is strictly controlled to withstand the salty coastal climate of Saudi Arabia. The furniture is reinforced with mortise-and-tenon joints and finished with matte environmentally friendly paint, forming a durable protective layer resistant to sunlight and humidity.
Senyuan has established a strict quality inspection system. All furniture undergoes trial assembly twice, both at the blank stage and after finishing, with carefully polished edges to guarantee meticulous quality.
The team manages the full workflow spanning design, production, ocean packaging and on-site installation. Dedicated staff monitor overseas project progress, efficiently resolve cross-border construction challenges, and faithfully realize the original design.
This in-depth collaboration with Six Senses Amaara in Saudi Arabia marks another major milestone in Senyuan Furniture’s global portfolio of ultra-luxury resort projects. It also represents a perfect integration of Oriental craftsmanship and international high-end wellness resort aesthetics. Going forward, Senyuan will keep focusing on bespoke furnishings for luxury hotels worldwide, bringing exquisite Chinese craftsmanship to more top-tier international resort landmarks. With fine furniture, we create living spaces that combine beauty, warmth and enduring quality.
